Analog Devices’ integrated battery monitor ICs provide high accuracy measurements for precise voltage determination. ADI’s battery fuel gauges accurately measure and report battery capacity in single cell or multicell handheld applications, with uncompromised charge accuracy thanks to a variety of unique sensing techniques that appear seamless to the user. Some models also provide battery voltage and temperature, while others integrate a sense resistor to minimize component count and increase accuracy even further.

Analog Devices’ USB charging and management products utilize key battery charging features and include a PowerPath circuit topology that enables managed power flow, allowing a load to be powered from both VIN and the battery. Our USB charging products offer shorter charging times, instant-on operation (even with a dead battery), and more flexibility for the device designer. Both linear charging for simplicity, and switch mode for higher charging efficiency topologies are offered.
